The College of Science consists of 6 academic departments and numerous programs both within each department and at the college level. The aim of undergraduate education in the College of Science is to produce intellectually able graduates who are grounded in the broad fundamental principles of the basic sciences, versed in the advanced concepts of their chosen scientific discipline and educated in the humanistic and social studies.
In this education, the student should acquire a thorough, integrated and broad understanding of the fundamental knowledge in his or her field, a competence in orderly analytical thinking, and the capacity to communicate ideas to others. Emphasis is placed on fundamental principles, so that the students can develop abilities to apply these principles to the solution of new problems not previously encountered by humankind, to the discovery of new things and the invention of valuable devices.
As a community of innovators, the College of Science integrates education and research to produce top graduates and ground breaking discoveries.
