NEC LT158 Projector
The Science Computing Facility has a Nec LT158 projector available for use by faculty in the College of Science.
Equipment The Nec LT158 is a lightweight (5 lb.) projector with high illumination (1500 lumens). At time of purchase, it was the top of the line of the LT series. This projector is suitable for projecting computer images in small seminar rooms to medium-sized class rooms.
A carrying case with wheels is provided for moving the projector between buildings. Borrowers of the projector will need to provide their own laptop computer. Connection cables and instructions for using the projector are included inside the carrying case.
Usage Policy
In order to use the Nec LT158 projector, you must be a faculty member of the College of Science. Usage of the projector is offered free (without charge) to the faculty in Science.Note, the ability to borrow this projector is a privilege and not a right. You will forfeit your ability to borrow this projector if you do not follow the few simple rules related to its use. Specifically, behaviors which result in inconveniencing other scheduled users of the projector will likely result in a forfeiture of your privilege to borrow it.
Making a Reservation
The staff in the Department of Physics will be responsible for sign-in and sign-out of the projector. The location of the department office is 225 Nieuwland Science Hall. Office hours are typically 7:30 am to 5:00 PM.Please contact Ms. Lesley Krueger by e-mail in order to make a reservation. A reservation includes both an expected pickup and return time. E-mail requests should be made at least 24 hr. in advance of desired usage time. A message confirming or denying a reservation request will be made by return e-mail. If you do not receive a reply in a timely fashion, you may contact the Physics Office directly at 1-6386.
Rules for use
- Only faculty in the College of Science may sign out the projector. They will need to present their Notre Dame identification card at time of check out.
- The projector is only to be used for work-related business.
- The projector must remain on campus.
- Reservations for using the projector will be kept in a Corporate Time schedule by the Physics Department staff. Reservations will generally be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The projector should be returned in the same condition it was in when checked out. That is, the Physics Department staff will check that remote controls, manuals, and cables are returned with the projector.
Note, the rules for use of the projector may change over time. The intention is to provide maximum access to this technology to members of the College of Science. Users seeking to borrow this projector on a regular and extended basis (e.g., for each class meeting of a scheduled course) will be urged to explore other methods of acquiring this technology (e.g., through an assignment of a class room with technology through the Registrar's Office).
